The Perplexing Parable

In this sermon, we explore Luke 16:1–13, the Parable of the Dishonest Manager, where Jesus challenges His disciples to live wisely and faithfully in the world. Though the parable can seem perplexing, Jesus provides clarity: His followers are to be discerning, prudent, and faithful stewards of the resources and opportunities God has entrusted to them. Pastoral Intern Sammie Hargrave unpacks the meaning of “unrighteous wealth,” the contrast between earthly and heavenly riches, and the call to act with wisdom in preparation for eternity. This message reminds us that God generously grants wisdom to all who ask and calls His people to be shrewd in advancing His kingdom while faithfully serving Him.
